Bitcoin price news live: Melania Trump celebrates BTC anniversary

The crypto market is relatively stable at the start of the year, with no major price movements from any of the leading cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin (BTC) continues to trade in the $45,000-$52,000 window it has been in since early December, despite dropping to its lower bounds at the start of 2022.

Ethereum (ETH) has fallen below the $4,000 mark that it managed to hold above for a long time, but it has changed in value by less than 1 percent over the past few days.

Many prominent cryptocurrency figures have predicted big things for bitcoin this year, and the deceptive six-figure price target is still seen as a realistic outcome for many analysts and traders.

Part of the reason for this is the massive momentum carried over from 2021, which saw massive interest in enterprise and retail — exemplified on Monday by former First Lady Melania Trump’s celebration of bitcoin’s anniversary.

Renewed expectations that the price of Bitcoin will reach $100,000 in 2022

The founder of cryptocurrency platform Nexo is the latest industry figure to expect bitcoin to hit six figures this year.

Anthony Trenchev told CNBC that the $100,000 price target for bitcoin, which many analysts believe will reach in late 2021, is still valid until 2022.

“Every time investors and the broader community write off bitcoin, it has massively outperformed,” he said. This was the case in 2020 when it jumped nearly 1,000 per cent and in 2021 where it rose 63 per cent. I am very optimistic about Bitcoin.”

Matt Damon mocked the crypto ad

Matt Damon is experiencing Twitter delight after comparing cryptocurrency trading to humanity’s greatest achievement in his latest component to crypto.com.

The American actor became the face of the cryptocurrency platform, featuring advertisements that appeared even on the most prestigious slots in the Superbowl. In the latest effort, he has been seen stepping into past photos of explorers and astronauts, manipulating bitcoin with maximum oomph.

“History is full of the word ‘almost,’” he says. “With those who almost took risks, and those who almost accomplished, but in the end for them it proved to be too much. Then, there are others — those who embrace the moment and commit.”

One Twitter user replied: “There is not enough luck in the world.”

Bitcoin Will Reach $100,000 In 2022, El Salvador President Bets

El Salvador’s president, Nayib Bukele, has made his predictions about bitcoin in 2022, claiming there will be a “big surprise” in April at the crypto conference he’s attending in Miami.

Bitcoin 2022 is the successor to the event where Bukele announced his intention to push through legislation that would make BTC legal tender in the Central American country. The CEO of El Salvador is also betting that bitcoin will hit six figures sometime this year, while also expecting two other countries to follow his country’s lead by adopting bitcoin as an official currency.

Melania Trump Celebrates Bitcoin Day

Among those who celebrated the 13th anniversary of the founding of the Bitcoin block yesterday was the unexpected number of Melania Trump.

Noting that Bitcoin has a market capitalization of over $1 trillion, the former first lady took the opportunity to connect her recently launched NFT endeavor with the hashtag #MelaniaNFT. Her first show on the NFT platform was a digital watercolor of her eyes called Melania’s Vision.

Her husband, Donald, is apparently not a fan of cryptocurrency, after claiming in an interview last month that the cryptocurrency is “very dangerous” and threatens the US dollar.
