Investors believe crypto will outperform stock market in 2022

Investors believe that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will yield better returns than the stock market in 2022.

According to a new survey on LinkedIn, 30 percent of investors said they believe that a cryptocurrency other than bitcoin will do better this year. Meanwhile, 25 percent said that bitcoin and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) will outperform other investments, while only 20 percent said they think stocks will perform better than others.

said Nigel Green, founder and CEO of deVere Group.

“It is also surprising that investors believe that “other” cryptocurrencies – not the dominant Bitcoin – will outperform other asset classes this year in terms of returns.

Bitcoin finished 2021 up nearly 65 percent, while the S&P 500 rose nearly 28 percent. Meanwhile, gold was down about seven percent by the end of the year.

“Investors are growing increasingly confident that digital currencies are the inevitable future of money,” Green added.

“In our increasingly technology-driven globalized world, it makes sense to hold borderless and decentralized digital currencies and/or other digital assets, such as NFTs.”

Last year, a survey conducted by digital institutional investment platform Valk found that professional investors are increasingly focusing on crypto and digital assets, with a third of them investing in crypto assets for the first time, and 55 percent increasing their allocations.
